Diversity Fellowship

Overview

Wilkinson Stekloff was founded with the mission of training the next generation of trial lawyers. Led by Beth Wilkinson and Brian Stekloff, the firm has established itself as a leading trial litigation boutique by building diverse legal teams that regularly try and win many of the most high-stakes trials in the country. The firm’s members believe that this success is driven in large part by our diverse and committed associates. Our goal is to continue that tradition by hiring attorneys that reflect our society’s diversity and giving them meaningful trial experience and client exposure from the start of their careers.

About the Fellowship

The Wilkinson Stekloff Diversity Fellowship is awarded to select second-year law students who meet the hiring criteria of Wilkinson Stekloff’s summer associate program.  In addition to training, mentorship, and the opportunity for trial experience provided by Wilkinson Stekloff’s summer program, fellows receive a summer associate salary and $25,000 to help defray the cost of their law school tuition. Fellows are required to spend a minimum of 10 weeks with the firm.  Fellows are also considered for future employment as a full-time associate. If the fellow receives and accepts an offer to join the firm, the fellow will receive an additional $25,000 upon returning.

Application Process

Applications from rising second-year law students for the fellowship are accepted for consideration the following summer.  The following materials are required:

  • Completed application form
  • Resume
  • Law school transcript
  • A personal statement of no more than 500 words that discusses your interest in trial work and how you will contribute to the firm’s diversity goals

Applicants who do not receive the fellowship will still be eligible for the firm’s summer program and do not need to apply for the summer program separately. Candidates for the firm’s summer program will be considered on a rolling basis.
