Pro bono representation is woven into the fabric of Wilkinson Stekloff. Since its founding in 2016, the firm has handled more than 100 pro bono matters. In just the past year, the firm’s significant and life-changing victories for our clients include: negotiating a favorable settlement for a client whose firearm license was unconstitutionally revoked by the D.C. MPD; obtaining a civil protective order for a victim of domestic violence by her husband; securing asylum for a gay man who endured persecution and violence on account of his sexual orientation in his home country of Colombia; and prevailing in an incarcerated client’s appeal by way of a precedential written opinion from the Sixth Circuit, overturning a dismissal under the PLRA’s three-strikes rule.
