Wilkinson Stekloff has been shortlisted again by The American Lawyer for the 2025 National Boutique / Specialty Litigation Department of the Year, after having taken home the honor at the 2024 Industry Awards. In addition, Counsel Roxana Guidero was named a finalist for Young Lawyer of the Year in Litigation. This annual celebration from the legal industry’s leading publication aims to highlight “most impactful and important work of the past year” by the nation’s leading law firms, corporate legal departments, and individual practitioners.
Over the past year, Wilkinson Stekloff has been involved in some of the most consequential litigation in the country, achieving extraordinary results for major clients across multiple industries. Most recently, the firm positioned Hewlett Packard Enterprise (“HPE”) to close its $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks, when the DOJ agreed on the eve of trial to a resolution that would maintain HPE’s vision of the deal and facilitate increased competition in wireless networking. On behalf of the NCAA, the firm secured final approval of a groundbreaking $2.8 billion settlement in its name, image, and likeness (NIL) litigation, which is widely expected to change the landscape of collegiate athletics, won the dismissal of multiple cases seeking significant damages for past NIL claims, and has successfully defended against efforts to upend the NCAA’s foundational eligibility bylaws. The firm also prevailed in defending Microsoft on appeal against the FTC, as a recent unanimous Ninth Circuit decision vindicated the firm’s trial victory defeating the FTC’s attempt to enjoin Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of videogame-maker Activision Blizzard.
Roxy was set to serve in a lead role defending HPE at trial, after playing a prominent part in preparing HPE’s defense on an expedited basis, working with experts to distill analyses of the wireless networking market that buttressed HPE’s claims that its acquisition would benefit competition in the industry. She was also an integral part of the trial team that won a massive victory for the NFL last year, facing over $21 billion exposure in their Sunday Ticket litigation a year ago, when a federal judge granted a post-trial Daubert motion and judgment as a matter of law, erasing a jury’s previous verdict.
