Wilkinson Stekloff Partner Sarah Neuman Recognized by Bloomberg Law in “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40”

Wilkinson Stekloff Partner Sarah Neuman has been honored by Bloomberg Law in its fifth annual edition of They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40, recognizing the practitioners who are the future of the legal profession.  “These illustrious 40 young lawyers are the newest members of our Bloomberg Law tradition honoring the brightest legal minds across the country,” said Lisa Helem, Executive Editor of Bloomberg Industry Group. “These individuals excel and innovate in their work for clients, in their leadership in their organizations, and in their service to their communities.”

In discussing her role in the firm’s win for Microsoft in the second largest merger trial in American history, Sarah explained to Bloomberg that the team “had been preparing for a potential trial since the deal’s announcement, which positioned us to try the case just 10 days after the FTC filed its complaint,” leading to victory on an unprecedented timetable. That trial win was recently upheld by the Ninth Circuit in a unanimous decision. In addition to this achievement, Sarah highlighted that she is equally proud of “delivering life-changing victories” by securing asylum for two pro bono clients, in matters that gave junior team members “the opportunity to stand up in front of a judge and examine witnesses and deliver opening statements and closing arguments—skills they can put to use in any of our matters.”

Asked what success means to her, Sarah explained that “how you win matters, and nobody wins alone. I always want to walk out of a courtroom feeling like the team left nothing on the table.”  She continued, emphasizing that “leaving favorable impressions on the judge, their staff, and opposing counsel requires professionalism and teamwork, and is as important to our firm’s reputation as our track record. In short, success does not stop at winning a case—it’s always putting our best foot forward together as a team.”

Sarah currently serves as a lead member of the team defending Cargill, the largest privately held company in America, in a series of civil antitrust cases alleging a conspiracy to constrain output and raise prices in the cattle and beef industry. She also represents multinational software company SAP in litigation with Teradata involving trade secret, patent, and antitrust claims.  This recognition is only the most recent accolade received by Sarah, who has been ranked by Chambers & Partners as “Up and Coming” and recommended by Legal 500, both in antitrust litigation.  She was also named a D.C. Rising Star by the National Law Journal in 2024.
